Tiger's Story
Tiger was Bart's oldest son's favorite animal. In 2005, as Bart got ready
to get on the bus to mobilize for Iraq, his sons gave Tiger with him "to
keep him safe and keep him from being lonely." Tiger went on every mission with Bart across Iraq, to include dozens of air combat mission over a dozen ground patrols. Tiger came through several enemy attacks, all without a scratch. Bart took pictures of Tiger's travels throughout Iraq, sending the images to friends, family and direct to his sons' classes to show what engineers do in Iraq to help people.
When Bart came back from Iraq his sons asked him to keep Tiger with him and bring him on all of his trips. This is how Tiger became our mascot. Since then Tiger has gone supersonic with a Navy fighter flying off the USS Stennis (while Bart watched from the deck) as well as criss-crossing the US. Tiger continues to travel the world, bringing the LSU spirit with it. This is our lucky Tiger, in more ways than one.
